Concert Information

2008 marks Richard Carson Steuart's 30th European based Concert Season since leaving his home country of Canada in 1978 to take permanent residence in Europe.

Next week he is a featured artist at the International Trumpet Guild Conference 2008 (from the 1st to the 7th of June) which is to be held for the first time in Canada and this at the beautiful Arts Centre in Banff, Alberta. Mr. Steuart is performing his classical Spanish Blue programm with Daniel Bolshoy of Montreal. Mr. Steuart is sponsored for this event by Kanstul Musical Instruments of Anaheim California for which he did Research and Development as well International Artist representational work in the 1990s. Mr. Bolshoy is sponsored by La Tromba Music Productions, Gemany.
Mr. Steuart's first performances in Banff were in 1976 when he gave a "live" CBC Radio Broadcast (a Piano and Trumpet recital) and a special Prize Winner (CBC Talent Festival) Solo Concert performing the Haydn Trumpet Concerto in Eb Major with the Canadian Chamber Orchestra under Aaron Copland as well as Mr. Copland's Tone- peom for Solo- trumpet, Englishhorn and Strings entitled the "The Quiet City".

Richard Carson Steuart and Daniel Bolshoy of Montreal will be performing for the first time together on June 4th, 2008 in a Duo Recital at the Banff Centre of the Arts Alberta, Canada as a part of the International Trumpet Guild's 2008 Conference.

Richard Carson Steuart has performed as soloist at the last combined ETG / ITG conference held at the Royal Nothern College of Music in Manchester England in 2002. There he perfomed an original virtuoso Solo work with Symphonic Concert Band accompaniment which was written for him by the modern English Composer/Trumpeter Peter Lawrence and aswell a bavoura show piece as an encore written by the famous Mexican/American Trumpet Legend, Rafeal Méndez. This coming appearance marks the fifth time Mr. Steuart has performed for the International Trumpet Guild community since 2000. He has performed twice before at the European Trumpet Guild Conference (a former "sister-organisation" of the ITG) in Bad Säckingen, Germany (both of which were organised by the then president of the ETG Dr. Edward H. Tarr).Richard Carson Steuart himself hosted the last ETG Conference at the Julius Echter University in Würzburg, Germany in 2003 at which time he too was elected to a term as President of the ETG.
