Munich Brass has a been top constellation on the European Chamber Brass scene since it's beginning in 1983.
Mr. Steuart had the idea of adding a woodwind/saxophonist player to the standard Brass Quintet line-up when he met the excellent studio musician Pepe Solera in during the music recordings for a Motion Picture Film production in 1987. The Film was German Comedy called "Stonk" starring Uwe Ochsenknecht and Götz George and with a score by Konstantin Wecker and top freelance Studio Musicians together members of the Bavarian Radio and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestras conducted by the international Big-Band leader and compser Peter Herbolzheimer. The film music recording went so well that Mr. Steuart spontaneously asked Mr. Solera to record with the Munich Brass for a special all Gershwin CD (recorded a short time later at the Bavarian Radio Studios) as well as a series of Concerts.
Since then there have been several very versitile international Woodwind Soloists who have performed and recorded with the group including Lezek Sadlo (Poland), Roger Janotta (U.S.A.), and lastly Mr.Normand DesChene (Canada) who is seen in the photo above.
